Tell us a Little about yourself.

Hi my name is Godfrey Nicholson. I am Author of “Moments of Pleasure and Violence I” and “2”. I was born in Culver City, California on January 2nd 1981. I've too have had troubles in school and had come from a broken home. I am what you call your typical 80s baby, wrapped with poverty, but was still blessed in many ways and by my mother's love.

I plan to branch off and write other genres, such as comedy horror, and even Sci-Fi, to be the public eye then later, hopefully I'll join politics.

When and why did you begin writing?

I began writing when I was 16 when I wrote my first short story, by the name of the invasion, our own essay we had to write for my English teacher at Inglewood high school in Inglewood California.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?

It was an Intel. I did my first full novel and prison. And I had a book reviewer in there read my manuscript for the first time and he said that I was going to go somewhere, and that was the moment when I considered myself an author and needed to be published.

What inspired you to write your first book?

What inspired me to write my first book was doing time and reading Terri Woods and James Patterson novels and then I got to thinking about all the bullshit I've been through and decided, hey, I can write my own novel also.  Then came the thrill of it!

Do you have a specific writing style?

Yes, well first, I write out my chapters in notes. The rest of it is basic.

How did you come up with the title?

Moments of Pleasure and Violence was my creative title from the mixed match life I endured. It was Pleasure and Pain, but Violence made a little more sense as to what I experienced. The title kept ringing in my head before finishing the book.  “Moments of Pleasure and Violence” is the ONE.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Yes.  I want the readers to grasp basic reality of the streets, our relationships and I call it: Urban Scandals.

How much of the book is realistic?

Just about most of the novel. All except the characters and the disruptive groups played in the book.

Are these experiences based on someone you know or events in your own life?

Yes, most definitely. It reflects on my negative and positive events. That I've had either experienced for myself or was part of my environment. I take Moments of Pleasure of Violence very seriously.

What books have most influenced your life most? A mentor?

I’ll have to say Alex Haley Roots was the most influential books of my life.

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Yes, and a few have even supported me.

Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

Yes. Marilyn Brown, Vincent Morris Woody and a few others.

Do you see writing as a career?

Yes, most definitely. This is now my NEW LIFE.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

No.

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I love to write when I can't talk about in general, I feel it is my release and outlet on my life and I love it to death.

Can you share a little of your current work with us?

Yes. Moments of pleasure and violence as a novel of pleasure in pain, basically, where one beautiful   intelligent woman is wrapped up in the mix between 2 hearts and others around in her groups are involved also, we're talking second and third party and the enveloped drama of winning their prize while others around are dying behind the political hand of the streets all wrapped in one. So, there you have a mix of jealousy, romance scandals and murder.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Nope, no not at all.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Can really pick one because there are many Shondra Rhimes and Terri Woods, for example, etc.

Who designed the covers?

My brother Christopher Nicholson desired the first cover and my publishing company Sinseer designed my second one.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?

OOh believe me, it was EASY. Nothing hard about it. As a matter of fact, it gives me a rush!

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Yes, stay on your grind and be vigilant about your work. This career can be discouraging, but don't give up.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

Yes, follow me and my work, you will never get bored of my literature. It's easy to read and you will enjoy every word in every chapter. Thank you, readers.

Do you remember the first book you read?

Laughing out loud. The first book I read was a big bird book by sesame street.

What makes you laugh/cry?

Comedy makes me laugh and what makes me cry is the world we live in today.

Is there one person past or present you would meet and why?

Of course Oprah Winfrey.

What do you want to be written on your headstone and why?
